Ugnis ir Druska
A warm, editorial website for a fictional fine-dining restaurant cooking over open fire, making the menu feel tangible and booking a table effortless.
Concept work. This is a self-initiated concept created to demonstrate my design and development approach. Ugnis ir Druska is a fictional brand and the project was not commissioned by a client. All names, figures and content are illustrative.

The brief
Ugnis ir Druska (“Fire and Salt”) is an imagined restaurant cooking over open fire. The goal was a site that feels like the room itself: warm light, paper menus and handwritten specials, with reservations and opening hours always one tap away.
Goals
- Convey atmosphere and cooking philosophy at a glance
- Present seasonal menus in a format that is easy to update
- Make reservations, hours and location instantly accessible on mobile
Design approach
- 01
Editorial warmth
Cream paper tones, terracotta accents and a soft serif borrow from printed menus rather than typical restaurant templates.
- 02
Menu first
Dishes are typeset like a real carte, with short ingredient lines and clear pricing, so guests can decide before they arrive.
- 03
Always-on booking
A persistent reservation action and an at-a-glance hours block remove the two most common reasons guests call.
